A long-term vision shared between Coach Marlie Davis and Coach Russell Monsef has been to find a way to promote the great sport of volleyball in our community. Our coaching roles in the Bothell area have allowed us to establish a rich volleyball tradition in the Bothell high school community. Our next endeavor is to extend our love of volleyball beyond the middle school and high school arena. Our goal is to provide exposure to the game of volleyball to young girls in the area in hope that we will develop enough interest to begin establishing local teams for competition.
Our proudest moment is winning the state volleyball tournament in 2021, with a lot of players who started in our club coming to camps, clinics and/or playing on our club volleyball team, as early as the 4th grade.

Russell Monsef
My love of sports led me to begin coaching in the district over 30 years ago. I have coached volleyball and wrestling at the junior and senior high school levels. When I discovered how much I enjoyed working with kids, I pursued a teaching career. I have been teaching in the district for 20 years. Currently, I teach health and fitness at Skyview Middle School, where I also coach 7th/8th volleyball, wrestling and 6th grade volleyball. I have been in the Bothell community since 1985. I am a Bothell high graduate, as are both of my daughters. When not coaching, I try to play as much golf as possible. As a family, we love traveling to Eastern Washington, other parts of the US and Europe.
Marlie Davis
Growing up a three-sport athlete, I have a great love for team sports. I played fastpitch in college while earning my mathematics teaching degree. Upon starting my career as a teacher I also began my transition from athlete to coach. I have coached basketball, fastpitch and volleyball for over 30 years. Although I still love and actively play volleyball, basketball and softball I have reduced my coaching focus to the game of volleyball. I coached volleyball at Bothell High School for 30 years as an assistant under Russ Kerwin, where I coached JV teams and was a long-time head coach. I still love coaching and currently coach the 7th grade volleyball team at Canyon Park Middle School. My non-coaching time is devoted to my husband and daughter, who is currently playing volleyball and softball at Western Washington University. To keep sanity you will often find me in the gym, on the court or on the field as I’m still living the dream!
